Metacognition

Metacognition allows students to process what they did in class and why it was done. Students are asked to answer the questions shown below.
We did? Why did we do it? What I learned? today? How can I apply it? What questions do I still have about it?
Upon completion, comments are collected and provided.
Metacognitive strategies are implemented to manage and organize the learning process such as identifying one's own learning style or planning a task development.

Traffic light of behavior

Inside the classroom there is a replica of a traffic light, in each of the lights there are different clothes hooks with the names of the students.
The traffic light is intended to regulate the behavior of students. Every Tuesday, when I get to the classroom, I check the behavior light. If it shows that the students are in a different part of the green, it means that a teacher has moved him / her and / or a classmate has a complaint of the student moved.
I call the students who are in the colors orange and red, I ask why they are in these places. The children give their versions of what happened, like the classmates, the group representative and finally the student leader. In this way, cases of intolerance, adversities and various conflicts between colleagues have been detected, which have been resolved through dialogue.
What has caused my interest is the creative and argumentative ability of children to solve the conflicts that arise. The leadership and empowerment of some students to direct conflict resolution

Protocol notebook

Children daily must record the significant events that happen during the school day in a notebook that rotates day after day, hand after hand.
In the protocol notebook, the children narrate what they found pleasant, of the school day, what has been difficult or frustrating and what has not been clear.
Students day after day listen to the narratives; It is significant because among them correct the narrations, the times and the characters. The students recognize and congratulate the narrative successes, in turn correct those students who have failed in their writings.
The notebook always remains in the hands of the students.

Traveler's notebook

The traveling notebook is a strategy that enables the cognitive development of children, since it allows students to recognize and identify the favorable conditions of a good student.
The traveler's notebook is delivered every eight days. Classmates choose the person who should take the traveler's notebook, based on criteria they establish; not the teacher Between the evidenced criteria are: the good work in class, the responsibility in front of tasks and workshops, behaviors with the companions and teachers ... the students put in balance these criteria and it is discussed who must take the notebook.
